“The Liberal government has made a unilateral decision to force a Wireless Smart Meter and Grid upon every home, apartment, business and community in British Columbia by December 2012.

This Smart Grid program is being implemented without the requirement of consent from the homeowner or business owner. Further, historical protective measures have been denied the public since our regulatory watchdog, the BC Utilities Commission, has been forced through the Clean Energy Act to abandon the normal process of review and oversight which would have addressed concerns of privacy, costs, health, security and more.

It is therefore left to us, the unprotected citizens of British Columbia, to demand a full review of this program, which affects civil, democratic and human rights of every citizen in British Columbia.

This issue is of great concern to people from all walks of life and we are joining together in the common goal of halting the Smart Meters and Grid deployment. There is still time to roll back improper, disrespectful and undemocratic government procedures which exclude normal oversight, public hearings and protection of the public and environment.

By joining together and speaking out, we can protect our democratic society which enshrines each individual’s right to life, liberty, security and enjoyment of property.

Let us join together with one voice calling for a halt for the good of all, for our children and our children’s children, protecting our freedoms and liberties.

We ask you to join our Coalition now, for all the right reasons, privacy, security, increased costs, health, environment and protection of our democratic and civil rights.
